How to Propose a Class

Do you have a skill, talent, or area of expertise you’d like to share with the community? We invite you to submit a class proposal to be offered through Missoula County Public Schools’ Adult Education Division.

Before You Submit: Checklist

Please prepare and submit the following materials:

  • Class Title and Description (40–60 words, written in second person for publication)
  • Three Learning Objectives that describe what students will gain from the class
  • Session-by-Session Outline detailing the topics and content to be covered at each class session
  • List of Supplies students will need to bring or purchase
  • Estimated Total Hours of Instruction and your preferred schedule (days/times)
  • Cover Letter explaining the demand or interest in your class in the community
  • Instructor Resume highlighting qualifications and experience

 

If Applicable: 

  • Sample Images of Final Projects (for Creative Art classes only)
  • Required Textbook Information: Title, Author, Publisher, ISBN
  • Classroom Equipment or Technology Needs

Course Proposal Deadlines

We accept proposals year-round. To be considered for an upcoming session, submit your materials at least 10 weeks before the start date:

  • January–February
  • March–April
  • May–June
  • July–August (limited schedule; same deadline as May–June)
  • September–October
  • November–December
  •  

Instructor Compensation

Instructors are hired as employees of Missoula County Public Schools and must provide proof of employability. The current pay rate is $32 per instructional hour.
